Spring update!

Wow, is it March already?

I’m excited to be heading back to campus this weekend for the March meeting of the Board of Trustees.

As always, we will be holding a Class Trustees Open Forum on Thursday. Open Forums are a great way for students to share ideas with, and to get to know the board. I encourage you to attend – even if you don’t have a particular agenda. If you can’t make the meeting, or would just like to get in touch, feel free to send me an email.

Browsing the events calendar today, I noticed another Trustee-related event: a lecture by Karen Florini titled “Climate Change Policy, Politics, and Personnel: A View From Washington.” Karen, a expert lawyer at the Environmental Defense Fund, is a Trustee and member of the class of 1979. Check it out if you have time.

Apologies for the lack of blog posts; I’ve been focusing first on getting myself up to speed on Board procedures and policies, in addition to some behind-the-scenes work. I’ll have much more to write about in the coming months – please check back. And as always, please get in touch with any concerns or ideas.

Finally, in case you missed it, take a look at Robert Lemle’s update from the December board meeting.

Hope to see you on Thursday!

First meeting!

Sorry for the delay, folks! I’ve been traveling since the end of the December Trustee meeting so I haven’t had a chance to blog. Check back soon for some of my first impressions.

Open Forum!

The December Board meeting is underway, and in case you don’t know I wanted to give you a quick reminder.

Class Trustee Final Election

Rocking the vote!

The final election for 2009 Class Trustee is now OPEN!

Members of the classes of 2008, 2009, and 2010 are eligible to vote. If you are in the class of 2010, or if you’re in the class of 2008 or 2009 and the College has an e-mail address for you on file, you should have received an e-mail containing a link to the electronic ballot. If you are in the class of 2008 or 2009 and the College can’t contact you by email, you should have received a paper ballot at your home address.

Contact if you have any problems with the voting process.

The polls close September 4, but why wait? Vote now!

I really appreciate your support! Tell all your friends to vote YES EZRA!

Campaign Update

Hi, friends!

Sorry for the perpetual lack of updates – the last few weeks of the semester really took it out of me, and I’ve been recovering ever since. Now that commencement feels like a distant memory, I’ll have time to re-focus on the YES EZRA campaign.

As you may already know, Oberlin College announced on April 30 that I am one of two finalists for 2009 Class Trustee. I couldn’t have gotten this far without the incredible help of all my friends, family, and other supporters. Thanks so much!

The final election starts on August 12. Members of the Oberlin College classes of 2008, 2009, and 2010 will be eligible to vote in the election. Ballots will be sent to e-mail addresses for the classes of 2009 and 2010. For members of the class of 2008, you will receive an electronic ballot if the Alumni Office has a current e-mail address for you on file. Otherwise, a paper ballot will be sent to your permanent address. (If you’d like to update either your email or mailing address, email and cc to ensure the ballot gets to you.)

I hope you’ll help me with the next stage of the election! The most important thing you can do is make sure to update your contact information with the Alumni office (see above), and watch out in early August for the ballot (in email or letter form).

I would love your help reaching out to friends in the classes of 2008, 2009, and 2010. Talk to your friends about the election, and make sure they vote! Forward YES EZRA emails (coming soon) along to others. Join the Facebook group! And send me an email (at if you have other ideas.

Thanks again for your support!

Time is running short!

Hi, friends!

I wanted to post a quick update, because primary voting ends at 5pm tomorrow, April 27. If you are in the Oberlin College Class of 2009, you should have received a link to the ballot last week in an email from the Office of the Secretary.

Thanks so much for all your support, and please vote YES EZRA today!

Weekend update

Bushu Gas, Saitama
It’s been a busy week here in YES EZRA campaign headquarters. The team has been working hard rafting down plum creek, going on bike rides, writing research papers, and – oh yeah! – making buttons and getting the word out in any way possible.

Time is running short! Ballots will be e-mailed tomorrow to the class of 2009. Please help us spread the word about YES EZRA. Join the Facebook group. And if you have submissions for the supporters page, send them as soon as you can!

As always, thanks for your support.
